Nusuk App Guide for UK Pilgrims
What the Nusuk app is, why it's now mandatory, and how to book your Umrah & Rawdah permits — or let us handle it for you
What is the Nusuk app and do I need it for Umrah?
Nusuk is the official Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah digital platform (app and website) used to plan, register, and manage every step of an Umrah or Hajj journey. Since the Nusuk visa/permit system became mandatory, all pilgrims — including UK travellers — need a Nusuk-issued Umrah permit to enter Masjid al-Haram, and a separate Nusuk Rawdah permit to pray at the Rawdah in Masjid Nabawi, Madinah. When you book through Perfect Umrah & Travels, our visa team handles your entire Nusuk registration and permit booking for you — you don't need to navigate the app alone.
What Is the Nusuk App?
Official Ministry Platform
Nusuk (نسك) is the Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah's official one-stop digital platform, available as a mobile app (iOS & Android) and website. It was introduced to modernise and centralise every stage of the pilgrim journey — from visa issuance to on-the-ground permits, transport, accommodation booking, and access to religious sites. It replaced the older Eatamarna system for Umrah permit management.
What You Use It For
Why Is Nusuk Now Mandatory?
| Requirement | What It Covers | Who Needs It |
|---|---|---|
| Umrah Permit | Timed entry slot to Masjid al-Haram, Makkah | All pilgrims, every entry |
| Rawdah Permit | Timed entry slot to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah, Masjid Nabawi | All pilgrims wishing to visit the Rawdah in Madinah |
| Umrah Visa | Entry visa for the purpose of Umrah | All UK pilgrims (processed on your behalf by our visa team) |
Saudi authorities introduced mandatory Nusuk permits to manage pilgrim flow, reduce overcrowding at the Haram and Rawdah, and improve the overall pilgrim experience. Arriving without a valid Umrah or Rawdah permit for your chosen time slot can mean being turned away at the gate. WhatsApp us and we'll handle your Nusuk permits as part of your package.
How to Use the Nusuk App
1. Download & Create Account
Download the official "Nusuk" app from the App Store or Google Play. Register with your passport details and mobile number to create your pilgrim profile.
2. Link Your Visa
Once your Umrah visa is issued (we process this for you), it links to your Nusuk profile automatically, confirming your eligibility to book permits.
3. Book Your Umrah & Rawdah Permits
In the app, go to the "Permits" section, select "Umrah Permit" (or "Rawdah Permit" for Madinah), choose an available date and time slot, and confirm your booking.
4. Present Your Digital Permit
Your confirmed permit appears in the app as a QR code / digital pass. Show this at the relevant checkpoint on your visit — no printing required.
When you book any package with Perfect Umrah & Travels, our team registers your Nusuk profile, links your visa, and books your Umrah & Rawdah permit time slots for you — one less thing to worry about before your journey.

Nusuk App FAQ 2026
Yes. When you book your Umrah with Perfect Umrah & Travels, our team registers your Nusuk pilgrim profile, links your visa, and books your Umrah and Rawdah permit time slots on your behalf. You don't need to navigate the app yourself — we send your confirmed permit details straight to your phone before departure. Just WhatsApp us your travel dates and we'll take care of the rest.
Yes. Nusuk is the official Saudi Ministry of Hajj & Umrah platform and is now mandatory for booking your timed Umrah permit (entry to Masjid al-Haram) and Rawdah permit (entry to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah in Madinah). Pilgrims arriving in Makkah without a valid Umrah permit slot can be turned away at the mosque gates, so having your Nusuk permits confirmed before travel is essential.
Inside the Nusuk app, go to the "Permits" section, select "Rawdah Permit", choose your preferred date and time slot for visiting Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah in Masjid Nabawi, and confirm your booking to receive a digital QR-code pass. Slots are limited and fill up quickly during Ramadan and peak season, so we recommend booking as early as possible — or let our team book it for you as part of your package.
Without a confirmed Umrah permit slot on Nusuk, you risk being refused entry to Masjid al-Haram at busy times, and without a Rawdah permit you cannot access Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah at all. To avoid disruption to your pilgrimage, book your permits as soon as your visa is confirmed — or ask us to arrange this for you before you fly.
Both options work. Many pilgrims prefer to download the free app themselves so they can manage their own itinerary in real time, while others ask our visa team to handle registration and permit booking entirely. Either way, we recommend having the app installed on your phone before departure so your digital permits and QR passes are accessible on arrival.
The Nusuk Card is an official pilgrim identification card issued alongside your Nusuk profile, containing your details and permit information. It is separate from your Umrah and Rawdah permit bookings. Requirements can vary by season and nationality, so check the latest guidance in the app or ask our team when you book — we'll confirm exactly what's needed for your trip.
Yes, children travelling for Umrah are generally included in the family's permit booking on Nusuk, linked to their own passport and visa details. When we handle your Nusuk registration as part of your package, we register every family member — including children — so your whole group's Umrah and Rawdah permits align with the same time slots.
Nusuk is the newer, unified official platform that replaced the older Eatamarna system used for Umrah permit management. If you previously used Eatamarna for a past Umrah trip, you'll now need to register on Nusuk instead — it covers visa services, permit bookings, and trip planning tools all in one app.
